1998 Q1—Salt Lake City, Utah

This exercise was held in Salt Lake City, Utah from February 20 to February 27, 1998. The exercise simulated the recovery of the facilities in the Salt Lake City AT&T Central Office.

The snow storm that occurred between Tuesday afternoon, February 24, and Wednesday night, February 25, left more snow in a 24-hour period than any storm in Salt Lake City's history. The east bench area, where the recovery site was located, received over thirty inches of snow during the week the team was in Salt Lake City. The NDR exercise continued throughout this period without interruption.
